This part of The Irish Banjo is all about what I call "fiddle style" solo banjo - single line melodic playing. This is by far the most common Irish solo banjo style. It's definitely not the only one though, so take a look at the harp style, guitar style and dulcimer style sections if you like some alternative ideas.
