 The next tune is so long we'll have to break it into two lines:

Mary had a little lamb

The new thing here is the # sign in front of all the c's. It's called a sharp and it means that the note should be played one fret higher than usual:

Use the left third finger (the ring finger) to fret the c sharp.


Key signatures

In "Mary had a little lamb" all the c notes are sharp. That's how it usually is in a tune. Either all the notes of a particular kind is sharp or none of them are.

So there's really no need to repeat that sharp sign throughout the tune. Let's just write it as a key signature at the beginning of each line, and then we'll just remember it applies to all the c's:
