Re: Bluegrass Banjo to play irish music?

Sorry for the last post which was empty.

I play a Tenor banjo (GDAE tuning), but if you've already got a 5 string banjo then why not give it a go. I can't give you any tips as I have no experience with a 5 string, but I do have a MelBay book by Tom Hanway that covers playing Irish and Celtic on a 5-string, I would suggest you purchase a copy.
The tile is "Complete Book of Irish & Celtic 5-String" by Tom Hanway ISBN 0-7866-1834-5
You can also go to the Mel Bey web site and do a search for "Tom Hanway" looks like the book even comes with a CD now. http://www.melbay.com/
